Long-term care insurance benefits focus of free event March 30

It may be hard to imagine now, but chances are you’ll need some form of long-term care later in life. As the costs of receiving care continue to increase, it’s important to include the possibility in any long-term financial plans you make.

Topeka Presbyterian Manor is hosting a free event, “Long-Term Care Insurance Explained,” at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, at the Big Biscuit, 2815 SW Wanamaker Road, Topeka.

Like any insurance purchase, there are a lot of factors to consider when searching for the right long-term care policy. Do I need long-term care insurance? When should I purchase long-term care insurance? How does it work? What will long-term care insurance cover? How much does it cost? Will I qualify for long-term care insurance? When would I be eligible to start using my long-term care insurance benefits?

Get the answers to these questions and more from Houston Sober, an agent with Farmers Insurance. Sober will provide information about long-term care insurance options and benefits, how long-term care policies can fit into your long-term financial plan and answer your questions.

“Long-Term Care Insurance Explained” is the second in a series of educational events and part of Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask lifelong learning program featuring speakers and topics of interest to seniors and their adult children. The third event, “Downsizing and Organizing for Senior Transitions,” will be April 13.

Register for either of these events online at TopekaPresbyterianManor.org/events-activities.

Topeka Presbyterian Manor’s independent and assisted living residences are tailored specifically for active and independent seniors who enjoy social and recreational options, maintenance-free living, restaurant-style dining, and so much more.
