Estate planning can be a complicated task, filled with pitfalls. Learn how to avoid them and protect your assets with “Estate Planning on a Budget,” a free virtual event hosted by Topeka Presbyterian Manor.

Join in as local elder law attorney Scott Sexton discusses ways to save money on estate planning. Hint, you won’t save money by downloading forms off the Internet. Get the answers to your questions like, “What documents do you really need to protect your family when you pass?” and “What are the common mistakes people make trying to save money on their estate planning?” Get the answers to these questions and much more!

Sexton is a member of the Kansas Bar Association. He began his career as assistant general counsel for the state of Kansas’ Public Employees Retirement System (KPERS), where he was first exposed to the areas of long-term care planning and elder law. He joined Scott, Quinlan, Willard, Barnes & Keeshan LLC, in Topeka in 2004, where he continued working with families in estate planning. In 2009, he founded The Law Office of Scott W. Sexton PA, a niche firm focused on providing comprehensive long-term care planning work to families throughout Kansas and veterans benefits planning in all 50 states.

The virtual “Estate Planning on a Budget” presentation hosted by Topeka Presbyterian Manor will begin at 2 p.m. Monday, October 19.  The talk is part of Topeka Presbyterian Manor’s Just Ask series, a free, ongoing lifelong learning program featuring information from local, regional and national experts on topics of interest to older adults and their families.
